[ARCHIVED] Euclid Business Center & General Preserve Development Update Recap of Community Meeting on March 13

www.cityofchino.org/constructionnews

On Monday, March 13, 2023, Council Member Marc Lucio, City Manager Linda Reich, and City of Chino staff held a community meeting to update residents on developer-led construction affecting areas of the Preserve. The City of Chino is committed to taking a proactive approach to addressing resident concerns relating to road closures, construction, and various issues that may impact the quality of life in the community. During the meeting, residents were provided an overview of the history of development in the Preserve since 2003, as well as highlights of past, current, and future roadwork and infrastructure improvement efforts. Projects led by the City of Chino, as well as those driven externally (by developers and/or neighboring city efforts), were discussed.

Topics of discussion included the existing road closure on Bickmore Avenue in the Preserve that is currently impacting residents. The closure is due to developer-led construction relating to the Euclid Business Center, which is owned and will be managed by Alere Property Group LLC.  Michael Pace, Vice President of Development for Alere, attended the community meeting to address community concerns specifically and directly. Creating a platform for transparency, accountability, and open communication is a high priority for the City of Chino leadership.

Following a formal presentation by Director of Development Services Nick Liguori, the community meeting transitioned into an open house, with various exhibit stations and key City staff in attendance available to connect with attendees.

Through feedback provided during the community meeting, the City of Chino identified numerous opportunities to improve and enhance services to residents, including developing web-based, project-specific updates with trackable milestones, ongoing construction newsletters, and an increased cadence of social media posts on construction/improvement projects. Additionally, the City of Chino leadership will explore ways to drive developer responsibility, ensuring that those building projects in Chino make it a priority to keep residents and stakeholders in the vicinity of the project updated.

The “Preserve Development Update” presentation materials given by City of Chino staff at the community meeting is available under “More Information” on the City’s construction update page.

Residents interested in communicating construction-related concerns may contact Development Services directly at (909) 334-3269. Additionally, concerns may be submitted through the City's reporting form.
