A Thousand Times No! $1,000 Fine for illegal fireworks in ChinoSafe & Sane Fireworks

Per section 8.12 of the Chino Municipal Code, the sale of "Safe and Sane" fireworks shall only be permitted within the City beginning at noon on July 1, through 9:00 p.m. on the 4th of July of each calendar year. Discharge is only permitted from the time of purchase through midnight on the 4th of July.

  • Possession or use of illegal fireworks: $1,000 fine.
  • Inappropriate use of "Safe and Sane" fireworks: $500 fine.

Boundaries for Fireworks

No fireworks allowed anywhere outside a residential zone; in any public park; in the area bounded by Euclid Avenue to the west, Kimball Avenue to the south and the City limits to the north and east; and in the area south of Pine Avenue to the City limits. Please reference the Fireworks Map to be sure fireworks are permitted in your area.
