Emergency Road Closures
Westbound Kimball Avenue between Euclid Avenue and Fern Avenue
On May 25, a crew contracted by an Ontario Developer to complete Ontario Ranch utility work caused major damage to a Chino Valley Desalter Authority Waterline and minor damages to other utilities in the area.
A damage assessment has been completed and crews are working on completing the sewer line work and repairing the damaged areas.
Given the extent of damage and work to be completed before safely reopening, it is currently estimated that the closure will remain in effect for 6 weeks. Traffic control is in place and k-rail has been installed to surround the site and protect it from the public.
The preferred detour is Bickmore to Fern with the secondary detour of Edison to Central.
Planned Road Closures
Kimball Avenue from Rincon Meadows to Main Street
Westbound lanes will be closed intermittently for night work taking place from 7:00PM to 6:00AM, Monday through Friday beginning Monday, May 9 through mid summer. Eastbound lanes on Kimball Avenue will remain open at all times.
More on this project: As part of the ongoing development in The Preserve, Kimball Avenue, between Euclid Avenue and Rincon Meadows Avenue is being improved to include the installation of underground utilities, raised median, streetlights, traffic signals and the installation of a large storm drain to help reduce flooding in the area. It will also be widened to four lanes, with two lanes in each direction.
With the initial phase completed earlier this year, the project is now entering the next phase of work which includes the installation of underground vaults and conduit.
