If you would like answers to these questions or others like them, then the Citizen Academy may be for you!

The Citizen Police Academy was established to promote an understanding of the Chino Police Department and its policies and procedures. In addition, the Academy provides training in all aspects of law enforcement and the issues that face police officers on a daily basis. The Academy goal is to also foster a spirit of cooperation between the city, its citizens and their Police Department.
The Citizen Academy is an eleven-week program
held twice per year. It meets one evening a week from 6:30pm - 9:30pm. Participant requirements are:

- Gang Unit
- Communications
- Patrol Operations
- Shoot, Don't Shoot Simulator
- Use of Force and Arrest Techniques
- Crime Scene Identification
- Narcotic Enforcement
- Crisis Negotiations
- Traffic Enforcement
- SWAT Team
